About Us

The Civic Association was founded about 1950, and was  named after an Indian Chief from the Queens Village region. The Civic Association covers the region in Queens bounded by Jamaica Avenue to Francis Lewis Blvd., south to Murdoch Avenue, east to Cross Island Parkway and north to Jamaica Avenue. The current President is Peter Richards and the two previous presidents were Mr. Michael Gordon and Mr. Willie Mushatt. 

Regular membership meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm at the

Hollis Congregational Church Auditorium

No meetings are held in July and August due to summer break and in January due to Christmas/New Years Holiday. Board of Directors meetings are held the fourth Friday of each month at 8:00pm.
